Anywhere in the United States
Mycotoxin remediation nationwide, not just nearby
Local crews in Indiana and Southwest Florida. For mycotoxin and complex projects, we travel to you.
Do you do mycotoxin remediation nationwide?
Yes. We offer mycotoxin remediation nationwide. Our local crews work out of Avon, Indiana and Southwest Florida, and we travel to homes anywhere in the United States for mycotoxin projects and other complex mold work. Traveling projects follow the same process as local ones: testing first, containment, removal and enzyme treatment, HEPA cleaning, and clearance testing before we call the job done.
Why families look beyond their own area
Plenty of companies can remove visible mold. Far fewer test for mycotoxins, understand what a family dealing with mold illness needs from a house, or will talk to a doctor about the results. When there isn't a firm like that nearby, families start searching further out, often after a local job has already been done and they still don't feel right at home.
Sound familiar?
- No local company you've called tests for mycotoxins.
- A previous remediation passed a visual check, but you still feel worse at home.
- Your doctor wants the house addressed to a standard nobody nearby understands.
- You're not sure whether to remediate the house or move.
We do it differently.
| A general local contractor | An AME traveling project | |
|---|---|---|
| Testing | Spore counts, if any | Air, dust and mycotoxin panels, before and after |
| Treatment | Bleach, biocides or fogging | Removal plus plant-based enzyme treatment |
| Mold illness experience | Varies | A large part of the work we do |
| Working with your doctor | Rarely offered | Results shared with your permission |
| Done when | The crew leaves | Clearance testing comes back clean |

The AME Clearance Method
How a traveling project comes together
The same AME Clearance Method we use at home, with more planning up front because we're coming from out of town.
Talk to a specialist-
Talk it through
A specialist learns about the home, its water history, any testing you already have and what your doctor has told you.
-
Test
Air, dust and mycotoxin sampling shows what is present and where. Lab results usually return in 24 to 48 hours.
-
Plan in writing
You get a written scope covering what will be removed, what will be cleaned and treated, and what clearance should show.
-
Contain and remove
Our crew travels to the home, builds containment, removes what can't be saved and treats what remains with enzymes.
-
Clean the air
HEPA air scrubbing, detailed cleaning and HVAC work where testing calls for it.
-
Prove it
Clearance testing, mycotoxins included. You get the report, and with your permission, so does your doctor.
What a nationwide project includes
- An initial conversation with a specialist before anything is scheduled
- Air, dust and mycotoxin testing
- A written scope and price before work begins
- Moisture source identification
- Containment with negative air pressure
- Removal of materials that can't be saved
- Plant-based enzyme treatment
- HEPA air scrubbing, cleaning and HVAC work where needed
- Clearance testing and a lab report you keep
Proof you can hold in your hands
When we finish, you don't get a handshake and a promise. You get the paperwork your family, your doctor, your insurer or your buyer can rely on.
Inspection report
What we found, where it is coming from, with color photos.
Written remediation plan
Scope, timeline and what will and won't be removed, before work starts.
Clearance lab report
Air, surface and mycotoxin results after the work is done.
A report for your doctor
With your permission, we share results directly with your care team.
Working with us from another state
Local crews, and a team that travels
American Mold Experts has two home bases. Our Midwest team works out of Avon, Indiana, west of Indianapolis, and serves Indiana, Ohio, Illinois, Kentucky and Michigan. Our Southwest Florida team serves Fort Myers, Cape Coral, Naples and the surrounding area. You can read more about both on our locations page.
Outside those areas, we travel. Not for every job, since a small bathroom leak is usually better handled by a good local company. We travel for the projects where specialized experience makes the biggest difference: mycotoxin contamination, homes where someone is dealing with mold illness, and houses where a previous remediation didn’t work.
What stays the same when we travel
Everything that matters to the result. A traveling project runs on the same five steps as a job ten minutes from our office: test, contain, remove, clean the air, and prove it. It uses the same containment standards, the same HEPA equipment, the same enzyme treatments and the same approach to clearance testing. You get the same written plan before work starts and the same lab report at the end. The details are on our page about the AME Clearance Method.
The projects we travel for
Mycotoxin remediation for families with mold illness
When a doctor has told a family their home may be part of the problem, the house has to be cleaned to a different standard. That means testing for toxins, not just spores, and cleaning dust, ductwork and belongings with care. Read about traveling mycotoxin remediation for mold illness patients.
Second opinions after a remediation that didn’t hold
Sometimes the mold comes back, or the family still feels worse at home after the job is done. We start by testing to find out what was missed and why. See second opinions after a failed remediation.
Complex or high-stakes homes
Large contamination, involvement of the HVAC system, or a home where the family has to be confident before moving back in. These are the jobs where a clear written plan and lab-verified clearance matter most.
How an out-of-state project starts
It starts with a phone call, not a sales visit. A specialist asks about the home’s water history, what you’ve already tried, any testing you have and what you’re experiencing. From there, testing tells us what is actually in the house, and the results become a written plan. Nothing is scheduled until you’ve seen that plan and agree with it. For a closer look at the planning, communication and scheduling, read how our out-of-state projects work.
Why families trust a firm from out of town
We’ve been family-owned since 2008. We’re an IICRC Certified Firm, and our team holds CMR, CRMI and CCMI credentials. We test before and after every project, and we share results with your doctor when you ask us to. None of that changes with the zip code.
We remove mold and mycotoxins from buildings. We don’t diagnose or treat medical conditions. If you have symptoms, please work with a doctor. With your permission, we’re glad to share test results and our plan with them.
Common questions
Have a question that isn't here? Call a specialist
Which states do you work in?
Our local crews cover Indiana, Ohio, Illinois, Kentucky and Michigan from Avon, plus Southwest Florida. For mycotoxin and complex remediation projects, we travel anywhere in the United States.
What kinds of projects do you travel for?
Mycotoxin projects and complex remediation, including homes of families dealing with mold illness and second opinions after a remediation that didn't hold. Call us about any project and we'll tell you honestly whether we're the right fit.
Should we remediate the house or move?
It depends on the extent of contamination, the building itself and the health needs of the people living there. Testing gives you the facts to make that call with your family and your doctor. We'll tell you plainly what remediation would involve.
Is the process different when you travel?
No. Traveling projects follow the same AME Clearance Method as our local jobs: test, contain, remove, clean the air and prove it. The difference is more planning before the crew arrives.
Will you talk to my doctor?
Yes, with your permission. We share test results and our plan. We don't diagnose or treat medical conditions.
How do I start?

We're done when the lab says so.
Every remediation ends with clearance testing, and our work is backed by a complete-removal guarantee. We don't close a job on a failed result.
