Chances are since you’re reading this, something has made you think you might have a mold issue in your home. Maybe you have noticed a musty smell that you can’t get rid of no matter what you try. Perhaps that small spot on your baseboard close to where your toilet overflowed has you wondering if it might possibly be mold. Maybe the allergy-like symptoms your son can’t seem to shake have you concerned. These are all perfect reasons to schedule mold testing and inspection.
How Does Mold Testing and Inspection Work?
So you contact American Mold Experts for an appointment. A qualified inspector from a 3rd-party lab is then scheduled to perform the mold testing and inspection. We will schedule him at a date and time that is convenient for you. The inspector will arrive at your home in an unmarked car. We know having a mold problem is not something you necessarily want your neighbors to know about. The inspector will talk with you for a few minutes to explain the mold testing and inspection. He will also have some questions for you to help him understand what possible issues there are that could be conducive to mold growth.
The Inspection Begins
Once he has the information he needs, the inspector will begin a thorough investigation of your entire home. His inspection will include everything from the attic to the basement or crawlspace. He will check for visual mold as well as for an indication of a water intrusion that may have gone unnoticed. Humidity and moisture levels in the home will be checked. Moisture is one of the main ingredients required for mold to grow. Pictures will be taken of any places he suspects there might be mold growth. As part of the inspection, he will also take samples for two mold tests. The tests could be a swab of a surface that has visual mold, samples taken from the air, or a combination of both. The inspector will decide which would be more beneficial in diagnosing any possible mold issue in your home.
When the inspection inside is complete, a check of the exterior of your home will be done. This is to look for areas that could be a contributing factor to any current water intrusion or that could become a problem in the future.
On To The Lab
When the mold testing and inspection is complete, the inspector will take the samples from your home to Enzcycle Lab. The lab normally has the results to us within 24 – 48 hours after they receive them. While the lab is analyzing the samples, the inspector will complete his report. His report will be approximately 25 – 30 pages of his findings. He will include pictures showing any problem areas and will give his recommendations in regard to a mold remediation. He will also note any other problem areas he discovered while inspecting your home.
And The Result Is: We’re Here For You
Upon receiving your lab results and the inspector’s completed report, an advisor from American Mold Experts will contact you. He will set up a time convenient for you to go over the lab report and inspection report and answer any questions you might have. The advisor can give you suggestions on how to deal with any moisture issues and help you put together a plan for the mold removal. The American Mold Experts team will be with you every step of the way. We will be there from beginning to completion and anytime you need us after that.
